“Crystalactor”-plant for Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH: Trade fair contact leads to major cross-company project

Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH near Dresden, part of the Theo Müller Group, is one of the most modern milk processing companies in Europe. An integral part of the dairy is an in-house wastewater treatment plant, which treats the high wastewater volumes of approx. 12,000 m³/day. A problem in waste water treatment is the high proportion of calcium carbonate in the waste water. Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH carried out tests with a Dutch “Crystalactor” process in order to avoid damage and high cleaning costs to pipelines and plants due to the high calcium content. The process delivered very good results in removing calcium carbonate from the wastewater. This was the starting signal for the “Crystalactor plant” project. Between the project engineer of Sachsenmilch and the SÜLZLE KOPF sales manager Thilo Kläger, a first contact at the IFAT 2016 in Munich resulted in a major cross-company project within the SÜLZLE Group.

This project comprised the entire planning implementation, manufacture, installation and commissioning of a softening plant for waste water treatment with a downstream dryer. Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH built a new steel hall in which SÜLZLE KOPF installed the new plant. In this major project, the synergies and performance of the SÜLZLE Group became visible, as three companies are involved.

SÜLZLE KOPF was responsible for the overall management, the engineering services, the production and the complete assembly including all small pipelines and conveyor systems. SÜLZLE KLEIN from Niederfischbach was in charge of control technology (EMSR), programming and the belt dryer. As a steel professional, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supplied all steel profiles and sheets for plant construction and tank construction. The project started in December 2016. The plant went into operation at the end of 2017 and has been running very successfully since then.
