Rannovation of the waterworks in Rastatt

Rastatt waterworks rehabilitated: State-of-the-art waterworks

The star.Energie GmbH & Co. KG in Rastatt began the expansion and renovation of its Rauental waterworks in November 2016. The construction work was almost completed when the plant went into operation in March 2018. The waterworks was fundamentally renovated and expanded due to increased PFC contamination (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals) in the raw water of the well. With regard to the removal of pollutants, the Rastatt waterworks is now state of the art. SÜLZLE KOPF Anlagenbau was responsible for the pressure filter boilers and the hydraulic equipment. In addition, a deacidification stage, consisting of a Riesler plant with packed bodies, was installed. The four activated carbon filters were lifted into the new building by SÜLZLE KOPF Anlagenbau before the roof was built. Another challenge was the installation of the softening filters, which were installed in the previously opened roof of the existing listed building under cramped and difficult conditions.
