Fire water lines – Katzenberg Tunnel
During construction of the German Deutsche Bahn’s ICE tunnel near Efringen-Kirchen, the fire water equipment for the Katzenberg Tunnel’s fire-extinguishing system was supplied and fitted by KOPF. The east and west tunnels each span a length of approximately 9,000 m and were implemented in a single stage of construction and approved in the autumn of 2011. The fire water lines in the tunnel are “wet-dry fire water lines”, meaning the line is not filled to the hydrant permanently.
