The welding shop completed two large shell-and-tube heat exchangers for the customer Heiza-Werkstätten, a leading specialist in heat transfer and heat recovery, which will be transported by the customer to Russia by truck, partly as special transport. There they will be integrated into a plant for the recovery of heat generated during the production of potato chips. The order is not an everyday order for SÜLZLE KOPF’s Welding Fabrication department: It involved the largest heat exchangers ever manufactured by SÜLZLE KOPF. A heat exchanger made of carbon steel in horizontal design was delivered. The heat exchanger with a diameter of 1,700 millimeters and a length of 7,500 millimeters has a tube bundle with over 800 welded-in tubes with a diameter of 42 millimeters. The weight is just under 19 tons. A heat exchanger was also supplied in vertical design and in the material combination carbon steel / stainless steel. The stainless steel tube bundle of the 2,500 millimeter diameter heat exchanger has almost 900 welded-in tubes with a diameter of 38 millimeters. This heat exchanger weighs just under 17 tons.
